For the obsessive-compulsive Jesters completist (who, me? no....) the song Tamale Wagon was also included on a record called "Stereo Spectacular Demonstration & Sound Effects" which came out on Audiofidelity the same year as "Dragsters" (1964).

Yeah I have Drag Bike Boogie as well... I haven't heard it in a long time but I recall it wasn't a particularly memorable tune...

You've gotta wonder what genius listened to Drag Bike Boogie and A-Rab, and decided, yep, Drag Bike Boogie will be the A-side of this single! Strikes me as particularly stupid....

I might be in a minority here but I actually think those dragster sounds are cool and adds to the overall listening experience. Also, in 1964 car sounds on hot rod albums sold records. Everyone was doing it.

imageAs far as I'm concerned these are the definitive versions of the songs even though there's only 10 of 'em on the record, and in spite of the cruddier sound than either of the "picture sleeve" versions.

For anyone interested, the 1982 Audio Fidelity LP is on eBay right now with a starting bid of $2.99 and only 3 hours left.

Thanks for the heads up, Klas!

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

You're welcome and congrats to the win!
