a lot of names mentioned here are people I have interviewed and aired on TWANG SHEBANG since we started in 2004 (Los Straitjackets, Frankie Blandino, amongst others); I have one in the can for Paul Johnson, and will turn that into a 2-part retrospective of his career. Also on tap, a neat interview with P.F. SLOAN; Andreas Vollenweider (electric harp twang), Strunz + Farah (flamenco twang) -- OK not all of this is surf obviously, but should be of listening interest to surf music lovers.
TWANG SHEBANG can be heard at www.myrealbroadcast.com.

I heard some mid west people had the gall to whine about him announcing west coast shows....

A lot of these people are very accessible and very nice people so I would suggest people just e-mail these people. I know they love to chat about music in general.
An email is no substitute for a well prepared interview.

I first met and interviewed Davie Allan at the 'WipeOut Festival' in Calella Spain in 2004. That interview was used in 2004; and I re-used it again in 2007 and did a special edition of 'Twang Shebang' by the way.
Specifically, show #36

or
maybe show 42, on the INSECT SURFERS, for starters

comments are welcome, of course
enjoy!
there are also some archived shows I did with PETE BEST of the BEATLES and British Invasion heroes of mine, THE SEARCHERS -- both shows mixed in surf and the artists' works -- great stuff
