I love my Strats and my AVRI Jaguar for surf. But I'm also real keen on my Italia Modena as well. And while traditionally more a rockabilly instrument, the Gretsch 6120 can be a mean surf axe as well. Also, though I don't own one, it seems the Gibson Firebird with triple baby humbuckers or single coils would make a gnarly surf guitar. —Matt Crunk Founder: North Alabama Surf Alliance (NASA) |

My Strat sounds great, its a 'Big Block' on 10's. Ive got a 'Baja Tele' which is great to play, but its still very new, and tremless. takes cover

And not to forget the great and unique sounding Mosrite trem, which is a must for the eleki and Ventures type of sounds. Looking at the poll standings, I'm really surprised that the Mosrite is doing so well in a totally Fender dominated environment. — |

Thanks for the detail Zak. I've been listening to a lot of Eleki lately and I really dig the tone that Takeshi Terauchi gets from the Mosrite. I've been playing a Jazzmaster exclusively for a few years now (previously a monogomous strat cat for ages) and I agree the heavy flats do change what you can do with the guitar a bit. I'm going with it though because its actually changing the way I play and thats a good thing because I was in kind of a rut for a while.

well i really i like emy shoreline gold 50s strat, i have a japanese jazzmaster copy too but there's something wrong with the electronics and i dont know how to repair it. and i've never played a real jazzmaster or jaguar.so i wouldn't know but yea STRATS RULE! —-Zanti Instagram: |

Get your electronics and pickups completely replaced in your Japanese Jazzmaster. You will love it afterwards. |

ditto. There is lots of info available on how to wire up a guitar. Gut your JM and start from scratch. Or hire a tech to do it for you. i dont really know if its supposed to bea jazzmaster copy or waht theres something seriously wrogn with the neck too. and the trem is just liek something i've never seen before. i looked and looked to see if i found any info on it but have not been able to find anything about it. it has a metal plate on the headstock that says " STADCO SOUND MASTER" and on the back it says made in japan. it is the one i have as my avatar pic. i let my friend borrow it a while back and i need to get it back! so maybe i can take more pics and see if i can fix it up. —-Zanti Instagram: |

Might have something to do with how many color levels you're using. I saved the picture to my desktop and looked at the picture properties and as posted it's 24 bit color. You can go higher, usually. For example, I'm using 32 bit color on my computer display. Generally speaking, more bits, more individual colors. This 24-bit format could come in at almost any point in the picture processing. Since you say it always happens, presumably it occurs before you see the picture on the screen or on paper, etc. If it's a digital camera, look at the settings on the camera first. These days you can generally control this to some extent. A person might set things to a lower level to fit more pictures in memory. If the camera is set to allow better than 24-bit color, maybe it has something to do with the process of importing the picture into the computer (or printing it and then scanning it, etc.). On the other hand, maybe the 24-bit format is a function of your processing as you prepared the picture for upload and you were seeing the same problem with 32 bit color, too. I'm not really an expert of any sort! Nice looking guitar, though, anyway. |
