Last night Atlanta's own Surf Maestro Eddie Katcher was honored at a 60th Birthday celebration provided by several of his close friends and family and members of the Atlanta area surf music community, of which there are several.
There was tons of food and beverage (adult and otherwise) for the attendees, and no less than five bands provided entertainment, and some "sitting in" by some of Eddie's loyal local musician friends. As you might expect, a GREAT time was had by all...and it was a full house!
WE LOVE YA, EDDIE!

Congrats again to Eddie for arranging such a fab party to celebrate his 60th. What a cool gig and great way to celebrate the big milestone - with that lineup of surf bands all together in the same place was really amazing.
FYI - For you vintage surf equipment geeks - Eddie and his bandmates have some of the most kick-butt vintage insto surf gear on the planet. Getting a chance to play through their Fender Showmen amps with their 15" speakers was a treat in itself. Not to mention the lineup of guitars - I haven't seen that many Jaguars since my last trip to the zoo!
Here's to EK - the grand instro surfmeister!

Rob, thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate your being a part of my birthday bash. It's always fun hanging out with the S-Geez guys.
I had reservations that we would have a really tough time stuffing 5 bands into that venue with only 2 1/2 hours to pull it off, but with Mighty Mitch and Woody running the stage end of things we pulled it off in rare form. We didn't even get a visit by the police. Now how could that happen?
Gee guys, I don't feel sixty. There must be some mistake on my birth certificate....
