Agree w/ BTD on all points.
Good selection of tunes so far, keep it up!

The Disasternauts

Hey did anyone record the show? If so could I get a copy? Also Jet is there a phone number for listeners to call in? If we were all to start calling they might get the message that they are maybe attracting new users. Also I would use Phil Dirts web site www.reverbcentral.com an look at the 5 star rated cds. Myspace and band web sites would help you a lot, most of the time there are songs to download.

Longboard Ranch
http://www.longboardranch.com/music.html

The Penetrators
http://www.penetrators.com/audio.html

Tha Vara-Tones - Both of their CDs are fantastic
http://www.speakerrepair.com/varatones/
http://www.varatones.com/

The Neptunes
http://www.surfneptune.com/Music.html

The Bitch Boys
http://www.bitchboys.de/

These are just a few. I was on Tiki Tena's myspace this evening and noticed she has a lot of band urls you could check out. I would suggest jumping on the Cowabunga web ring and cruising for a while. i hope they keep the show! We need more surf on the air!

Thanks
Guy

Thanks for tuning in guys. And, thanks to all for the advice and suggestions. Not sure how we sounded, but it was sure fun to do. I will let them know about the "muffled" microphones. If it was me that was muffled (versus Chuck), I just may not have been close enough to the microphone.

Show #1 Playlist:
1. Psychobilly Freakout - Reverend Horton Heat (theme song)
2. Motor Oil (Instrobeat) - Phantom 309

One way to promote the show's longevity would be to email: programming@wpgu.com and type "Surfabilly Freakout" in the subject line. Tell 'em you liked it and that you'd like it to stay on the air. I will check if there is a phone number that could be called...if there is, it would need to be during normal business hours. If you called during the show, the only people there are Chuck and I and we were so busy juggling CDs, it was tough to get to the phone (outside of calls from our friends requesting "Pearl Jam" every 5 minutes).

Not sure if there is a recorded version of the show. They may have it on the station's hard drive. If so, they may be considering using it for a future podcast.

Thanks again-

Jet Sterling, Cosmic Spy

Consider it done - and let me know if you need more tunes, I'll gladly burn some cd's for the cause.

The Disasternauts

Jet Sterling, Cosmic Spy

Well, guess we were having too much fun. The 'powers that be' got back after intersession break and got wind of our little surfabilly hijacking. They have another show planned for our timeslot...so, the "Freakout" is taking a hiatus. There is a chance that we will be able to do the show on Saturdays...we are currently in negotiations-

Negotiation Status:

Us: "Please let us keep the show"

The Brass: "No"

Sorry to hear about the show, Jet. I hope you get another spot. Keep us posted.

The Disasternauts

I bet the program director used to be a lifeguard at a public pool or something... Always spoiling the fun by flexing their muscle when it's not necessary...
"Don't run by the pool..."

Anyway, the playlists from your show looked awesome... Anybody that plays Flat Duo Jets/Dex Romweber is OK by me.

Cheers!

You can thank Butch Cavefish for that - he turned me on to a ton of great stuff! Hope to get it back on the air again soon!
