Our drummer had a bit of an accident and won't be able to make a gig we have in Escondido (San Diego) at the Metaphor Cafe this Sat. night. So.... We need somebody to fill in for a 45 min. set. We have the mixes for our upcoming CD available (basically our set). The gig is definitely not going to be a high paying gig by any stretch of the imagination. Should be a fun gig though and I'd hate to cancel. We'll be playing with two great bands: Jason Lee and the R.I.P.Tides and Superwave. If anybody is interested, please PM me or email me at: ruiz.ryan@gmail.com.

I would drum for you guys in a heart beat! that's a bummer about your drummer, When we played The Doll Hut with Jason Lee his drummer was under age and so we were left with what to do so I, Steve Lewis (Verbtone drums) and Jason Lee's Sax player split Jason's set on the drums it was a blast!!!
All the best to you guys!
Cheers
Kyle

Thanks guys. Yeah its a real bummer. Our drummer slammed his pinky in a car door and lost 1/3" off one of his pinkies (surgery, the whole bit).
Kyle, that would be so sick to have you play drums for us. I'd definitely be honored. Hopefully we'll find someone. I've been talking to Jason Lee and others...
Thanks tonybologna. 'Preciate it.

That was fun! Thanks to BTD, I got to play a few cool tunes with a couple of great guys, Ryan and Steve (Secret Samaurai). The Metaphor is nice venue with a respectable local turnout. Jeff (BTD) and Jim Frias made the drive down to Escondido as well.
We did a few covers; Surf Party, Latinia and Istanbul. The rest were originals that were exciting to play as I had just received the .mp3's from Ryan earlier in the week and was only able to practice (on my drumkit, alone, headphones) a few hours before the gig. Steve and Ryan were very helpful with the cues for the breaks, tempo changes, etc.
It's always good to get out and play!
Good luck to Chris making a speedy and full recovery.
Thanks again guys!

No, thank you Duff!! We had a blast last night! Thanks so much for learning the tunes on such short notice and making the trek down south. The Slingerland sounded sooo nice! I was really bummed at the prospect of not playing the gig, and it couldn't have turned out any better. We owe you one!!
Thanks again Jeff (BTD) for responding to my distress signal

cool to meet you Sandy Feet, sorry forgot your real name already,
here's my post about the show from the show announcement thread:
sweet sounds last night , the showman was a beast Ryan,
great show by all 3 bands, and cool town and venue.
Patrick of the Maderia is the sound guy, and his wife is the booker there.
Hope for many more shows there.
