...Noel is starting to batter us here in Halifax. The full force is supposed to hit around 12am AST. We even cancelled our gig tonight because of all the warnings to stay off the roads to keep 'em open for emergency vehicles.
Wish us luck (signing off the web 'til tomorrow)

we have huge surf here on the outer banks today. two guys took a jet ski WAY off shore and were doing tow ins. they came into the inside break and one of them had a wave that was easily 10 feet over his head. the road down to hatteras island was closed last night until this afternoon due to ocean overwash. we also lost power yesterday evening for a few hours.
i can only image how big the surf is there with that storm heading straight at you. good luck. carol

Good luck and be safe to all the east coast people that might be affected by the storm.

Well we got through the storm with very few problems. My windows are covered in salt from the ocean spray, the leaves are off all the trees, branches are down, and we lost power for a couple of hours. The winds peaked at 135kmh.
About 155,000 people are still without power here in Nova Scotia. thanks for your thoughts!
Our gig has been rescheduled for Jan 12...there'll probabley be a snow storm!

Snow is fun to visit for fun.

Glad to hear that those of you who have checked in are okay. Guess you had to break out the acoustic guitar for a while Carol.

"some of you will be most impressed by the size of the waves here today in north carolina" I'd sure like to see some photos of those waves.....we're people surfing? We played tonight outside next to the beach during a high surf advisory here on the South Shore of Kauai......it was amazing! Huge...well, maybe 8 to 10 feet Hawaiian......It's such a cool background effect for songs like The Ventures' "The Lonely Sea" and heck, all of them really.....had to tune up a few times from the humidity "ho bra, was 'tick li' dat! Anyway, we're glad everyone's OK from the storm on the East Coast.

Hey Ron,
It was small, glassy and kinda fun here in CA last weekend but we are on tap for getting that BIG south swell from Antartica that you guys got first. The swell model has it coming in starting tomorrow. YARP! Time to play hooky and hit up Trestles!
Cheers,
Ted

Great shot. They are calling for sets double overhead in Surf City. I'll be doing dawn patrol to shoot some video at the Pier & Wedge.
