...what can you guys tell me? 
I've always been into the Twins, Super Reverbs, etc and never really had a chance to check out a Vibrolux. However, I managed to catch Los Straitjackets twice this weekend...Friday nite and Sunday nite...and both Eddie and Danny were using Vibrolux amps, and they sounded awesome. I had a chance to talk with Danny briefly who told me that his was a '65 (I think...) with two 10s, and he said that was at the point where they were still Blackface amps but had just switched over to the Silverface look. He said that Eddie's was a 70s model that had the Blackface mod. They had a nice grind to 'em when they layed into them, and that's the sound I really like from an old Fender. Anything you guys can tell me to look for/lookout for if I go searching for an old Vibrolux?

Good lucking finding one at a decent price. And there is nothing to tell when looking for them. See if you like how it sounds, is it in decent condition?

You can still get 70s units for less than a grand if you look around. Don't be afraid of SF....BF mods for this model are minor...I have one that's a 72 or 73...loaded it with Weber Calis (ceramic)....didn't like the Oxfarts much.
Warning, I'm just parroting others for this, I'm no expert:
Only mods for this model that I'm aware of are adding a bias control (do it in addition to the bias balance that's there, best of both worlds)....I think the rectifier on the BFVR is a GZ34....and mine is a 5Ucan't remember.
My tech. added the bias adjust, new caps, I changed the speakers, and put in NOS Mullard 12AT7s for better / quieter reverb (Mullard 12AT7s aren't too expensive). Amp sounds great.

they pop up on ebay from time to time, but sell for a small fortune. Your money can probably be better spent imo.

I've got an early 70s Vibrolux Reverb, paid $800US about a year ago. I play it at least weekly, gig with it a couple of times a month on average, and I've had no problems with it whatsoever over that time. It sounds great for what I play, and is loud enough for small clubs without mic'ing. With 2 x 10s, it's light as a feather. That said, there are lots of alternatives that'll do the job, all depending on what exactly you plan to do with it, how much you want to spend, whether resale value matters to you, etc etc.
