It's easy to find shows all over California. How many east coast bands are out there? And are there any players in North Carolina?

Also check out Unsteady Freddy.
He is a Dj that is very well informed on the East Coast events.
He is based in New York and has several internet radio shows such as Twang Shebang.

there aren't nearly enough surf bands in florida.

however, two just sprang up here in gainesville.

StratoGeezer. Atlanta
The Penetrators, Huntsville/Tuscaloosa/Atlanta
Big Ray and the Futuras, currently in Atlanta
The Mariners, Nashville/Atlanta
All sorts of groups in Florida which include:
The Intoxicators
The Nova Rays
The Thrusters

Thanks, It's great to hear about all the groups active down here in the home of the "Southern Surf Syndicate." I never forget for a minute that most of this great Atlanta area instro is the result of Rip's vision and influence........ed

To Eddie's point, surf is alive and well here in the south, and there is a # of us bands that wish we had some more surf-band friendly venues. One that is - and one of our favorites is the Sweetwater Brewery in Atlanta - with an outside deck that provides a great spot for instro surf. The Surge and StratoGeezer are regulars there.

Great slide show Rob, That is one of the best surf friendly venues anywhere. They sure have great beers as well.

I really enjoyed the StratoGeezer show there on Thursday night! You guys sounded great and managed to chase the rain away!

Hey - thanks EK as always for the support! It's so much better when we get some friends in attendance to make some noise - and that know a bit more about surf music than is portrayed within the "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack! Although I shouldn't knock Pulp Fiction- as it gives the younger folks (newbies to instro surf) at least a point of reference in which to build upon - in terms of building an appreciation of the instro surf genre. That movie has done probably more for instro surf than "Hawaii Five-O" has - although it's close.

A special thanks for providing the on-the-spot amp expertise, repair and troubleshooting that enabled us to keep playing following our little connection glitch.
