Thats ture,

Ran is the man when it comes to mixing and making new drinks,
his Keel Haul from last years tiki Oasis, and the Hydrazine from this years Oasis were insanely great.
but the key is exact mesurements.

This is my first post and so I thought I would make it good. I love the Irish Stouts like Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish. I am from the St. Louis area and can't drink AB products anymore.

Welcome Summer66. Good for you, graduating to real ales and losing your taste for Anheuser Blechhhhh. I recommend you try Mackeson if you can find it. It's calls itself a 'triple stout', and is on the slightly sweet side, but oh so smooth. Comes from England originally, but they opened a brewery in the US making the ale to the same specs, but at domestic prices. Smile I buy it at Trader Joes. Everyone (that drinks dark ales) that I give it to seems to like it.

Cheers

Wannes - sorry to bring up this old thread, but what do you think of Brasserie Des Rocs Triple Impériale ?
I like it as a strong fruity beer, I suspect that other people might find it too sweet.

Ran

I dont know it, will have to hunt that one down! generally Im not really up for fruity beers, though I do like a lot of triples. you know if you can get Liefmans in the US?

i was curious of this when i saw it pop up at local stores. i'l have to give it a shot. stouts are so smooth and so lovely.

Mackeson's is tasty stuff -- we can get it at Trader Joe's around the Bay Area. I had a Chocolate Stout from Rogue Brew on cask last week, and that was PHENOMENAL. The head tasted like a hot cocoa.

This weekend, much to my chagrin, I partied all day Saturday without drinking a single PBR. I had some Spaten Oktoberfest, a blonde ale (I think) from Kona Brew, and a couple bottles of Skinny Dip from New Belgium Brewing. Then it was up to Sacramento to see the Hypnotic IV, where I was downing Bud and High Life until 4:30 in the morning. Look in the General discussion forum for a full review of the show.

Wannes,
I haven't seen it, but I will look for the Abdis Triple, the rest (made from fruit) don't look too appealing.
Thanks,
Ran

The Scimitars

isn't beer made from fruit called cider?

Anybody tried Landshark Lager? It's relatively new in here in Ft. Lauderdale. Its sort of a Corona styled beer. Very refreshing, but more a novelty as I believe Jimmy Buffett is behind the brew. I tried it because the sign for it in the bar was a surfboard with a shark bite out of it. (I'm a sucker for good promotional material)

CUTBACK

Sad news, folks, apparently due to problems growing hops and barley these days, the price of beer is expected to increase over the next year or so.

I might actually have to pay a buck fifty for my PBRs at happy hour... Crying

~B~

That still sounds like a really good price. Here in Sweden you often have to pay the equivalent of at least 4 dollars for a happy hour beer (40 cl draft).

Klas, but that is probably Beer, not PBR.

The Scimitars

Ran should we post the joke about PBR and sex in a canoe?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Jeff, I know the joke, no need to repeat it.

Klas, it is a good deal still. I will guess that you get a better quality beer for your price over in Sweden.

~B~

awe common Bill, I knew you know it, wanted to share it with the Class.

cheers brutha

speaking of Chimay blue,
I picked up a white, red and blue bottle today at Hi time while rum shopping.
and also a duvel , I was not happy with the Duvel at all.
is it me or is that an acquired taste beer?
