I got a call from Jay's wife Cecillia today,
she said Jay passed away April 30, 1 month ago.
Jay was 76 or 77.

I don't know how many people here knew Jay, but I thought
it would be worth mentioning.

Jay lived in Huntington Beach. Doug Snyder, Jay & I used to sit together at local surf shows, like Surfin' Sundays and Surf Dogs.

I did not talk to Jay much the past few years. Cecillia was seriously ill & Jay was always by her side for a few months, maybe longer. Then Jay was in poor health the past couple years, but died peacefully.

Cecillia was good friends with Bob Spickard as they were in the same
high school class. Cecillia said they are good friends with Bob & his wife to this day.

Jay had some good stories, like when he was a kid, he had an uncle
who was a VP at CBS. Jay got to be on set when Gunsmoke, Gilligan's Island & Lost in Space were filmed.

Jay lived not far from the Huntington pier. At least once, Jay let his garage be used for backline amp storage for the Surfin' Sundays pier shows. Jay & I drove Messer Chups to a gig in Pomona after they played a pier show. That was a Sunday after SG101, when SG101 was only on Saturday.

You have my sympathies, Dave. Always sad to loose a friend.

Sorry to hear, my condolences to family and friends.

Damn that’s too bad, I drove by his neighborhood recently wondering how he was. But I forgot the actual house he was in.
Condolences to his wife and friends Ana family.
