Permalink New album by The Eerie - Book of Reverbations - London-based 'math surf' group

Hi everyone!

We're a surf band based in London, England called The Eerie. In the last three years, we've been putting our own spin on instrumental surf rock by mixing it with odd time signatures as well as leaning into exotic melodies and experimental sounds.

We recently released our first full-length studio album, called Book of Reverbations. It's 40 minutes of our favourite original numbers of the last three years, recorded and mixed by us (well, me) completely DIY over the course of 2024.

We played our compositions exactly as we do live - on drums, bass and reverb-drenched guitar - but also took the opportunity to add more depth and presence by weaving in layers of tight percussion and alien synthesizer throughout.

Coinciding with the release of our album, we were featured in an article and interview on the DIY music blog Idioteq where we go deeper into the themes and the construction of the record:

https://idioteq.com/book-of-reverbations-by-the-eerie-explores-the-ghosts-of-surf-rock-through-a-cerebral-experimental-lens/

The full album is available to buy digitally on Bandcamp, and you can listen to the first three tracks for free:

Also, we're stupendously excited to share that the album is available worldwide on vinyl! The record is top quality, sounds fantastic, and the packaging is top notch. It's all beautifully presented and includes a 10 page booklet with more clues on the tracks and some honestly mint photography. You can buy it here:

More formats to come soon...

Anyway, hope you give our album a spin, and please do let us know what you think!

If you like our stuff and live nearby we play regularly in London and around the UK. We've got two London gigs coming up in June, the first of which is Friday 20th at The Finsbury, supporting our friends Satan's Baby. We're also headlining Biddle Bros on the 27th, playing alongside surfy garage rock band The Widows and techno-blues solo act The Slow Blade.

Also shout out to Worthing Surf Festival, which any self respecting surf fan in the UK should enjoy! The next one is on 24th August and The Eerie will be there.
