I recently started to build a pedalboard that started to be very surf-centric, but since I also love spaghetti western and spy instrumentals, and like to throw in some psychedelic elements, it is starting to get pretty big. I am also a fuzz pedal addict, so... Some of these pedals are in shipping so it is very much a work in progress.
Surfyman- very much the heart of the whole setup getting that wonderful brownface tone.
Fender '63 RI tube reverb unit. I didn't do any mods to it, but I may have lucked out and got a good example of this, because it sounds great as-is.
Surfy Fuzz- a really cool fuzz pedal that is very versatile and can get quite nasty and also psychedelic.
Pipeline Tremolo- My favorite trem is in the Surfyman, but I sometimes like a square wave trem for spaghetti western guitar and this does that very well.
JHS Oil Can Delay- Used mainly for a slapback delay for spaghetti western stuff. I love the unique and very vintage sound of oil can delays- pretty lo-fi and can get very dark.
JHS Plugin 1967 Fuzz- a very vintage sounding fuzz that I find perfect for spaghetti western
JHS Firefly Fuzz- Did I mention that I like fuzz? This is a very psychedelic sounding fuzz
Blue Nebula Delay- This is for when I want to mix in a long delay or echo like effect. I like to combine this with slapback delay for spaghetti western sounds. This pedal emulates some great vintage tape and drum delay units like Binson and Echoplex. I want to thank Synchro for doing a great review of this pedal that introduced me to it.
Xotic XW-1 Wah- very versatile pedal that covers the sound of a number of vintage wah pedals.
Compressor- I have a couple of different compressor pedals, but am still deciding which one is best for this board, but leaning towards the TC Electronics Hyper Gravity.
I've got about a half dozen more fuzz pedals and more delays, but not on this board.

— You can never have too much reverb.

Maybe you could suggest a fuzz for me?
Ive always had bad luck with them; everyone I've had just sounds like distortion to me,
I'm looking for something like the Venture's "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" or anything by Takeshi Terauchi.
I'm guessing I want germanium over silicon but other than that I feel pretty clueless...
I don't really find reviews on YouTube and stuff to be that helpful because the goofball reviewers only ever play the most stereotypical blues or metal riffs...

I will have to think about this and listen to Slaughter and Terauchi- it's been a while.

That sounds like a Mosrite fuzz pedal, which is not a surprise given their relationship with Mosrite guitars. Catalinbread makes a good mosrite fuzz pedal that you can pick up used for about $100. Just make sure you get the black Germanium version and not the silver silicon version.

The SurfyFuzz, USA setting is based on a Fuzzrite (what the Ventures used). To dial in that sound, start with the MASS at 9 o'clock or lower, intensity straight up at about midnight, and you can tweak the others from there! Garrett Immel (VenturesMania, Ghastly Ones, Satan's Pilgrims) wouldn't have designed a fuzz that wouldn't get a Ventures tone.

We are also big Eleki fans, so we included the Japan (octave fuzz) setting based on AceTone's FuzzMaster for the Takeshi Terauchi sound.
Garrett insisted that the difference between germanium and silicon is marginal and not worth the headaches of dealing with germanium, and we trust him. He takes this stuff really seriously.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I've watched a few demos of the Surfy Fuzz, but like I said it's hard to find someone who is actually playing the kind of stuff I want to play! Like, I don't care if it "DOOMS"!

Good to know- thanks! I got a Surfy Fuzz a few days ago but haven't had a chance to use it yet.
