Hello everybody!

I'm new here, and read that new members are encouraged to say hello, so I thought I'd give it a shot!

45yo Belgian guy who is actually a double bass player in a rock'n'roll / country / rockabilly / instrumentals band. It's a bit broad, but what we aim for is to be the kind of band you would find in Belgian pubs at the beginning of the 60's.

Since a few years the band is no longer active, and I made the decision to try some guitar. I bought A Squier CV 50s Telecaster and a year later the Squier CV 60s Jazzmaster. I really love both guitars. Good enough for an amateur like me. I noticed that I mainly play surf or guitar instrumentals and that's how I eventually ended up on this forum.

I hope I learn some stuff here about guitars, amps and pedals!

Cheers,
Jürgen aka Junior Jake

What about the kid with the sideburns?

Hi Jürgen,
Welcome at SG101!

Thinking about what you might find in a Belgian pub early '60
The Jokers - Luna Gitana [Gypsy Moon] (1963)

Tot in den draai ;)
Grt,
Boost (Kontich)

The Arousals
Los Venturas
The Hydrosonics (RIP)

Yes! Love The Jokers!

Rony Sigo from The Jokers was a colleague of mine when I worked for Canal + . Very down to earth guy who hardly ever spoke about his past with The Jokers. I worked over two years with him before I realised! Laughing

Thanks!

Hello Jürgen, welcome to SG101! You will find all you need and more in the way of advice and opinions regarding guitars, amps and pedals, as well as some great comradery with fellow players. Perhaps you can make it down to the next Surfer Joe Festival in Livorno, Italy this summer!

Let's hope I'll be able to make it there!

And I'm pretty sure I'll learn a thing or two here Wink

Wow that's a great story! I would be asking him all kinds of questions.
