Looks like I may be joining a band that only has a tentative name at the moment, so I'm looking for suggestions. It's not a surf band, more surf-adjacent, playing psychobilly/rockabilly with some instrumentals like Link Wray stuff and I may convince them to play some of my surf-type instrumentals.
In general, I'm a rather creative type when it comes to art and music, but I often bang my head against the wall when it comes to thinking up good band names. The ones I think of that I really like are always already taken (e.g., The Irregulators, The Wilhelm Scream). So I'm open to ideas to suggest to the guys in the band - let me know yours (as long as you aren't planning to use it yourself or charge royalties)!

Most bands try to find the single word to identify their band...the moment you add another word, and then a third word, you are significantly reducing the likelihood of another band having the same name. Tremolo Beer Gut is a fine example.

I have a list of band names that come to my mind from tome to time but I think the name of your band should mean something for you and your bandmates, not for me…

I ascertain that you are in North Carolina, from your introductory post. Considering that this is a Psychobilly band, how about the Mayberry Maniacs? If you want more of a Surf angle, The Outer Banks Oddities might work. But this ignores two absolute gifts in place names; how about the Kill Devil Hillbillies or the Wrightsville Beachbums?

here’s a couple from my long list of band names I’ll never get around to using that might be suitable for a psychobilly band:

How about, “The Plugins”.
Or, “High tide”.
Or if you want to be real surfy sounding. How about “Squashtail” ?
