Here's our own Ivan Pongracic, giving a short video bio at his daytime gig, Hillsdale College, and he introduces them to surf music!

I don't what gas in the atmosphere Ivan breathed in the 1990s with the Cossacks - but the music he wrote was great and still holds up. I've had many of those tunes transcribed.
And as Ivan stated at the videos end, they were not for the faint of heart and are a bit more of a challenge than the usual surf tune.
All MHO, of course.

Having been a member for quite a while and having watched many videos of him performing, some with his father, I found the story to be very interesting. I still find it interesting that an economics prof who could be about common sense is involved in something as nonsensical as surf music. Smile

I find the story of Ivan’s father coming to the US to be quite interesting, and my heart is warmed by the videos I’ve seen of the two of them playing together.

As a player, and as a person, he certainly has earned my respect. His playing skills are exceptional and I’ve heard some great music come out of his various Strats.

When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar.

Yes, that’s interesting. We have talked with Ivan about this a lot as I grew up in USSR. A lot of common experience and thoughts.
