So the procedure is ... do introductions here. OK then...
Born in 1950s. Started playing guitar in 1966.
Grew up in the San Francisco Bay area [Sunnyvale, Palo Alto] & Utah.
Married 43 years to my first wife and - since I’m from Utah - the only wife.

I'm a dedicated cyclist since 1980s, mostly road riding but lately gravel biking [non-ebike]. Cycling is my anti-depressant...along with my guitars.

Recorded an album in 2009 under the moniker Signal ... All original tunes, in the Progressive Folk or Progressive Rock genre. Picture shows stringed instruments used from about 2000-2013. With deep regret I sold them all in 2013... I really should've kept the green Rogue Sitar-Guitar & the Yamaha 12 string acoustic. The Les Paul was a great instrument, but I got bored with humbucker tone.

Will try posting pics of current guitar array.

Bands I liked in the early 1970s: Gentle Giant & Yes.
What I listen to lately: Surf Guitar, Mermen, Patrick O'Hearn, Vangelis

Hey Signal, welcome to SG101! I'm in the same age/music category, born in the 50's, started playing in the mid 60's. That's a great selection of instruments you had. Looking forward to the pics of your current collection. Tell us about your surf music interests.

Patrick

Welcome to SG101, Signal!

Thank you for the welcome. Surf Guitar appeal for me:
Guitar-driven, straightforward. Generally, tones are clean. Just reverb. No guitar effects overkill, no sonic clutter.
Instrumental
Gives us a "canvas" to "paint" great melodies and chord structures.
Brings back wonderful memories of my youth growing up in California.
