All of the other tunes are instantly recognizable holiday tunes. Except Scrooge. What on earth is that tune from?

It seems that Scrooge and Snow Flakes are the Ventures originals on the album. |

I don't have anything to add other then to confirm Scrooge is a Ventures original. I figure they came up with it to get some publishing income. It doesn't sound as if they spent much time putting it together but it's a fun one. I think of it as The Ventures holiday answer to Boris the Spider. —"Hello Girls!" |

Okay, after some additional listening and research (and regardless of the songwriting credits), Snowflakes sounds to me like Greensleeves and, according to the always reliable internet, the Ventures "Scrooge" contains samples of "Mysterioso Pizzicato" by J. Bodewalt Lampe |

Scrooge wasn’t on the LP version I received as a gift in the early 80s. That was a gift in itself. —Sean |

Lol. When I play those tunes at gigs over the holidays, I always skip that one. No one would know what it is. And it sounds totally un-christmas. Ah yeah, snow flakes is green sleeves. I always get that one and God rest ye merry gents mixed up. —Guitarist for Black Valley Moon & Down By Law |
