It's not Halloween themed, but I have to say it's about the closest thing to a traditional surf song I've ever come up with. I'm not sure how many first wave songs featured an upright bass, but I couldn't resist including that texture on this song.
This is a single-only version; the album version will be different, so your dollar won't be wasted! I hope you'll give a listen & consider buying the single - I'm putting all the proceeds from the single towards paying for the mixing & mastering of the EP and every dollar helps.

Thanks Art - I tried really hard on this tune especially to do something more traditionally surf than I've done before. It's not just an homage to the bands that came before us, it's an exploration of that feel and those tones - though with my own spin on the whole concept.

Nice work. I bought a copy this morning and listened several times.
The Earthrise tune is nicely arranged, and using double bass keeps the bass line and the VI sonically separate. I like the relatively open feel, where the melody does the heavy lifting, and the song isn’t drenched in rhythm track. A line drawing is beautiful because of both the lines and the blank spaces, and likewise, music can afford a snit of sonic openness. I think you jot a nice balance which leaves some sonic space, but never sounds empty.
The Surfata in A Major for Bass VI, Op 54, is the first classical Bass VI I’ve heard all day. nice work, and a unique approach.

I really appreciate the support. It seems a little silly to get excited over $1, but I have to tell you, every time somebody puts their money down for anything I've recorded, it reminds me how lucky I am to be able to express a sliver of creativity and share it with the world.

I give a lot of credit to the guy who mixed it. I had two rhythm guitars running wall to wall from beginning to end. I still think they sounded cool, but I have to admit the sparse mix really served the song in a way that hadn't occurred to me. One of them is in the outro, the arpeggiated guitar. I love the double bass texture - I'll take credit for that idea - it adds a cool layer to the song.

I played that song for my mom and she said "I guess all those years of studying classical guitar finally paid off." She meant it in a nice way ... I hope
