I downloaded the drum track but the rest--bass, rhythm and lead--is me, such as it is. Be gentle.

I like it! It’s not easy playing and recording all those instruments, and then mixing it. Good job.

Pretty good! Might want to add a click track for next song just to lock the lead in a bit more when recording. Sometimes I have to turn my click up louder than my drums... :-D

Pretty impressive playing everything. The original almost has a swing feel to it, so that can make the timing feel different. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, folks. I learned a lot while doing this. And thanks for the advice. I did notice that I was rushing the lead work, especially in the second half of the tune. (It’s that pesky red light effect.) But, I was kind of ready to move on to the next project at that point! Big Grin

It’s easy to lose your timing while playing, I know more than anybody. It takes a while to get used to playing to a click track, and even then I’ll have to go back and correct my timing in post production. I don’t want it to sound perfect, as this is not electronic trance music. Keep practicing, you will get better and better over time.

I like the production and vibe, keep going!
But yes, metronome practice is essential and drum track often also demands click to stay tight during recording.
