I’ve been practicing serious now for a little under 4 years, so I’m not necessarily a beginner, but I’m far from being a competent badass player….
So I’m still learning new things and developing my sound…
Well a little while ago I learned about alternative guitar tuning and how a handful of first wave bands d tuned to sound different…namely The Centurions and Fender IV…
well after d tuning one of my guitars a whole step down I don’t ever want to play in standard tuning EVER again!
It really makes the guitar sound really full and ……mysterious? It’s magical whatever it is…
Has anyone here had a similar experience with d tuning and not wanting to go back to standard ?
My second problem is I’ve had the SurfyTrem now a little over 2 months and honestly the “harmonic” setting makes everything sound so cool…. I never want to turn it off!
Although I know Trem is best used sparingly in order to make the effect stand out more….
PROBLEMS!

Haven't been in standard tuning since probably about 2002.

This is the perfect way to justify the purchase of another guitar. You need to have one you can keep in alternate tuning! Or maybe you need to have one you keep in standard tuning. Either way, you need one more!

Yea it’s really addicting with that tuning. Feels like you are in a different world.

Part of your amazing sound!! I still keep my Jag tuned that way so I can still get that Scimitars sound when I am needing a fix
OP: good luck finding that tonal sweet spot! If it works for your ears and works for your fingers, run with it!

I'm into the stoner/doom genre and have a dedicated LP custom in C-standard for heavy riffage. I think I need a dedicated offset with single coils in C now.
