Permalink Centurians and Fender IV tuning

New Topic

I’ve seen a lot of comments about the tuning of The Centurions but nothing definitive (perhaps I missed it)

but what exactly is their tuning? Drop D , D or C? I’m totally confused and none of those sound quite right…..

Also what was Randy’s tuning for The Fender IV?

Much appreciation for any input!

Both bands tuned the guitars to D standard. Randy Holden mentioned this in an interview here on SG101 and the information regarding the Centurions comes from a post by Matt Quilter.

I think the Madeira have a few recordings where they also tuned down to D, but other than that I kind of wonder why not more bands are doing it today.
