Hey All,

I am going to be in NYC next week performing at the Battery Dance Festival (Sun, Aug 11&Tues, Aug 13 - Rockefeller Park in the evening). Not playing surf, but Traditional and Indigenous Futurism music.

i have my list of things to do while there, but would like any suggestions of things you think are cool to do. If you are around, please drop by and say hello.

Thanks,
Rev

Rev,
From a New Yorker:
Enjoy your gig.
And -
Watch your back - Stay the hell away from 8th Avenue.

Rev,
If you have time and some excess cash burning a hole in your pocket -
Guitar Center 25 West 14th Street
30th Street guitars 234 W 27th Street

and
Rudy's Music 461 Broome Street - bring lots of $$$; Rudy is pricey.
He had some water damage recently from a fire in a penthouse over his store. He lost some very rare guitars. He usually doesn't bargain all that much, but he might be more price-amenable at present.

J Mo'

It is always nice to check out some guitars! Thanks for the info.

One of the newer cool things to do is go walk along the highline. Also not too far from that you can visit the Ghostbusters Fire Station (that's just a quick photo op).

If you've never been before, some of the classic things I like to do are: Met Museum, Museum of Modern Art, American Museum of Natural History, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, meander through Central Park, go to top of Empire State Building (really cool at night) or GE Building at Rockefeller Plaza.

I’ve been there once before, a decade ago. The Highline is on my list, as are the Met,and a day or 2 in Brooklyn. Thanks for the suggestions.

If you'll still be around by Sunday Aug 18, you should come to my surf bands (WIPED OUT) show at Arlene's Grocery! Music starts at 7!

Would be happy to go but I will be back in Canada on the 16th.

There is so much to do in New York. It really depends what you are into. Museums are great. The regular sight seeing stuff if it’s your first time. Burlesque/ Duane park.. Speaks Easies.. Also a lot of great places to eat in queens and Brooklyn. WoHops is sort of famous in China town. Also Emilios ballato on East Houston street.

Thanks!
