Just an update and bump...The Scimitars are extremely excited to be performing at this year's festival! Things are looking good for us to have the new record on hand for sale for the very first time! See you there!

I bought the digital download of Desert Tales last Friday & listened on my home stereo.
There are 11 songs on the album.
I heard most of the songs live, except for Taverna & Under the Catacombs.

There is no filler on Desert Tales. The sound is crisp & vibrant & wide. Very pleased with the sound quality. I especially like the big sound of the lead instrument on Marquis de Saz and the intro to Mystic Sphinxter, with the left, right alternating tremolo. Under the catacombs is delightfully creepy.

Highly recommended. Good goin' Scimitars !

The lead instrument in Marquis de Saz is an electric Saz.
The intro to Mystic Sphinxter is good old Showman "Harmonic Tremolo".

Just a small correction - the last track is called "Into the Catacombs", and indeed has not been played live.
Taverna is new and has only been played live a couple of months ago at my backyard party.

Looking forward to a fun SG101 Festival, and would love to hear more feedback on the album.

They're here!
@the_scimitars will have copies of "Desert Tales" LP (band-exclusive black vinyl limited edition) for sale at @sg101festival throughout the weekend. Saturday is sold out but there are still tickets for Friday and Sunday!
And, if you're going to @tikioasis (a few tickets and hotel rooms still available), catch us on the main stage Thursday August 1st, at 6:00 pm with @jaynamanoushe, then grab your copy of the record.

I love this album very much - so congrats! Any touring plans (for Europe)?

Now I just need it to be available in basically any European online record store. Flight13 predicted it might be available in October… let‘s hope.

We played at Surfer Joe Summer Festival 2023, and I did leave a Saz with Lorenzo in anticipation for future gigs. No concrete plans at the moment, but if the stars align again, we may be able to make something happen.
