AndrewTesta, really good news about the current model of Vintera Jazzmasters. I bought the earlier version, and had to have a ton of shielding installed in the cavity, as well as a full setup. It plays and feels great now, but it definitely wasn't like that out of the box.

I bought my desert sand JM late last year and I find that it is such an improvement over the Vintera 'I' series JM that I traded in for it. The only problem I had with it was the usual thing of the nut string grooves being too high and intonation was whacko at the first fret due to the significant pulling down (i.e. "bending") to fret the note. Not my first rodeo with MIM guitars but now I have the tools to measure and cut the nut slots to their optimal depth/height. Love the guitar. I added a shim but I totally expected it and was prepared to do that and I have no issue with that at all.
