Any update on when this film will be available to purchase/stream?

MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. New EP Louder Than Life available on bandcamp and website.

No updates on that. Still more legal stuff behind the scenes John says.

Appreciate the update. I have waited several years to watch it, I can wait a little while longer.

Probably showing it again at SG101 festival

There's going to be a showing at KFJC, Los Altos, CA., on May 18.

JULY, 2025!!!!!!!

"Sound of The Surf" will be released on DVD by Vision Films this summer. Work to make that happen started this week. The final push to get this film out there. Streaming will also be available at some point after July. I realize it's been a looooong time to get here -- and I DO appreciate everyone's patience -- but I've always been optimistic that this movie was going to be publically released. And, here we are.

Vision Films is the same distribution company that released Stacy Layne Wilson's documentary on The Ventures, "Stars On Guitars." I'll post more progress notes as we get closer to JULY!!!

(For those contributors to Tom Duncan's Indiegogo crowd funding campaign: you'll be sent a comp DVD as soon as they are available)

Congratulations & Thank You, John, for getting this project across the finish line and broadly available to the public!

Question - I recall the earlier comments about t-shirts, posters etc. likely not being done after Tom passed, but for the movie content, there was going to be both the Blu-Ray DVD of the Documentary as well as a Limited Edition bonus Blu-Ray DVD with bonus content. Is the format Blu-Ray and will there be a bonus disc?

^ I paid 118 bucks for whatever tier I was on.. but believe it been said everyone will 'just' get a DVD+digital download regardless what tier they originally paid for, which kinda sucks from that perspective.

it is in the small print of what you posted that you might not get perks!

As I've noted before, Tom Duncan's passing was unexpected. At the time, yes, he was talking about all sorts of bonus this and that, a separate DVD with "bonus materials," t-shirts, posters, etc. He had all of that as part of his Indiegogo campaign, but none of it existed at that time. So,I have NO IDEA exactly how he would have made all that happen, so I couldn't just follow a plan that didn't exist at that time. So, no bonus disc or other related swag are planned. I can't predict what the eventual DVD package will look like or contain. I WOULD LIKE to see a blu-ray issue and some extra material, but we'll have to wait and see (the film WAS shot in hi-def, so....). I've only started to work on getting a massive amount of files and other information into Vision Films' hands. We'll have to see how this all develops and I'll post updates as we move along.

Since Tom left us, this has been mostly a one-man operation. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to fulfill all sorts of swag and bonus DVDs, etc. I'm just grateful that there'll be DVDs in five months.

Congrats John. I know it's been a lot of work. The film is great and I hope it reaches a bunch of people outside our little world.

It was great to see the film last summer at the SG101 Festival (thanks Jeff), and I look forward to getting the DVD. Thanks John for all of your hard work on this!

Thank you, John. I suspected the source would have been hi-def, so great to know it was and preserving that as best reasonably possible for the viewer is your interest too, appreciating next steps are with the folk you’ve engaged to produce the disc etc.

No one can deny your grace and kindness to pick up the pieces left at Toms tragic passing. You’ve earned your wings and halo!

Passion. How many in life have that to undertake a project that will not make you financially successful, better looking, world famous or any of that garbage. I for one have the greatest respect for John having purchased items from him before. His word was good. That means a lot to an old geezer such as me. I'm speaking from the old person's view point now: surf has been a very important part of my world. I watched it disappear for many years only to return better than ever before. People such as John have a stronger love affair than I. I'm looking forward to receiving my copy. After Tom's passing, I thought it was done. For some, this will be about expecting what they paid for which is fine. For me, it is the surprise that is will happen. I have no idea what John went through to make this happen. All I can add is Thank You, Mr. John. Smile

Can’t wait to see this! Been looking forward to it for a very long time.
