Permalink Eko 500 Pickguard

New Topic

Hello everyone. I was recently given a nice old Eko 500 V4 (4 pickups). Unfortunately it was in bad shape. I'm in the middle of repair. Aningst other parts, original pickguard was missing. I have access to CNCs & routers, would like to make my own exact copy.
For this, I'll need a scan copy. There's nothing on internet. Worst case scenario, vector draw one from internet vertical pics.
But it would be better if i had an actual scan copy.

Is there anyone owning this guitar and could do this for me? I'd really appreciate it.

Anything from an Eko 500 V2/3/4 would be fine.

Cheers.

It might be tricky to find someone with one of those guitars, and then scanning it would be a lot of work since it means taking most of the guitar apart.

Are the original screw holes for the pickguard still there? If you can't find anyone, what I would try is to get a sheet of clear plastic and lay it over the body to mark out the screw holes, and you could then draw the pickguard outline by hand connect-the-dots style. That would then give you a template for a pickguard that would fit and be quite close to the original.

I see. Yeap that's what I'll end up going with.
I've already overdraw the body with holes (was lucky as patina has done its work revealing a little where the old original pickguard was) and everything in a clear transparent big film paper.
Scanned it and now I'm trying to vector digitally draw it having some reference vertical pics I found online. Turns out pretty close & I don't think you'll notice a difference to the eye.

Hope it'll end up nicely.

But in any case the ideal would be to draw clone a real scanned one

Post this question over at offsetguitars too, if you haven't already. I'd say there's a better chance of a member owning one there.
