Permalink Relentless attacks on 1967 Japanese guitar

New Topic

Relentless rapid alternating picking in these two videos. The guitar shown combines two Japanese guitars bought in 1967, with slender neck from one with body, pickups, and vibrato from the other. Neck was from a 4-pickup guitar whose pickup controls and vibrato resisted repair. Body is from the most economical solidbody guitar of the time. The result shown has a 24-3/4" scale and each pickup has a volume control. In Apache Rock both pickups are full on, in Blasted Surf bridge is full on while neck is just loud enough to smooth the timbre. Bass guitar and drums were previously recorded.

How many guitars do you hear in "Blasted Surf" not counting bass?
