I've noticed the recent discussion of the Quilter Tone Block head preferred by some members of the forum. My question: What cabinet do you use or prefer with your Quilter head? How are the matching Quilter 12 or 15 cabinets?

I use a 1x15 Fender blackface style cabinet with a Weber California in it, and tilt legs. Whenever that's too much, I also have a Quilter 1x12 cabinet with tilt legs. Both really deliver!

Does a Quilter Micro Block 45 count?
Weber Ceramic California 12, with an aluminum dome, in a Heywood Wakefield nightstand. The guitar and pedals get put away, but the speaker stays out all the time in our little music alcove.

Big Quilter fan here (it’s about 75% of all I ever talk about on this forum). The Quilter Blockdock cabs are highly functional, well tuned cabs. I have been playing Quilter amps for five or six years and started using their Blockdock 12 a little over two years ago. My only complaint is that I bought the original version with the Celestion BN12-300S. Which is a speaker more appropriate to woody clean jazz guitar tones. It’s actually a bass guitar speaker. Now they sell the 12 with a Celestion Copperback. Last year I switched to an Eminence Legend EM12N but yesterday I installed the seldom heard Eminence Legend 1218 and suddenly am hearing a tone closer to what I prefer. It’s odd to consider putting a 150 watt speaker in a 200 watt amplifier but it is possible with Quilter. If I had been more comfortable with that idea I probably would have gone straight to something more like what I just installed (which is still a high wattage speaker). In short, I recommend the highest wattage speaker you like with whatever cab you have. . . or just get the Blockdock 15 with the super surfy custom aluminum dome speaker.
PS - If anyone wants a deal on a very nice broken in but not abused Eminence EM12N please feel free to PM me.
