Even though I first heard the Insect Surfers' "Surf Sun and Sound" in the 2010s, it reminds me so much of beach life in the 1990s. The solos absolutely send me. I practically play this song on repeat all summer long: https://youtu.be/7-1W5lVjABs

I bought it when it was released just to check out the band, and it's been a favorite ever since. Most of the lyrics are still relevant today.

The new Tentakills album “Rage Of Aquarius”. This record hasn’t been getting near enough attention here. IMO this is the best new surf album in ages. They emphasize melody and atmosphere while keeping it garage-y. They are very competent tasteful players who don’t sound like they are trying to impress by constantly playing 1000 miles an hour and filling up every free space. It’s a keeper.

I hadn't played it in a while but this is truly the greatest surf comp ever. The whole record is such a massive surf music onslaught from start to finish.

listening to "Around the World with Satan's Pilgrims" got me curious about the origin of "The Fountain." Apparently played by Davie Allan & The Arrows. Composer is a little mysterious, with Mike Curb and Stout and Dodd being cited. Skaterdater soundtrack discussion
