Permalink I just bought the ugliest bass I've ever seen, and...

It rocks! Seriously, what great sounding bass! I already owned a Fender P/J, a Musicman Stingray, and a Kala U-bass. I had some extra GC gift cards and decided to add another bass. I was considering a Squire 40th anniversary P bass (on closeout) and I was about ready to check out. On a whim, I tried this Jackson X series Concert and was blown away! They had it on sale for the same cost as the Squier, so I decided on this instead. It has active single coil pickups in a P/J configuration but it sounds nothing like my Fender. The clarity of the bass notes is phenomenal!

I know she's not much to look at, but she sure sings nicely!

Wow, that is a real Jackson, Fender, Rickenbacker mash-up! I'm glad it sounds great!

I have bass guitars with and without built-in multiple-band active EQ. For basses without it the Hartke Bass Attack pedal provides the equivalent, and in a bass-savvy manner better than simple EQ band adjustment.

Looks like a studio bass to me Wink

Not ugly but weird. And weird is good.

A strange beauty. I love it.
