I also got the 30 after my player pack amp. I still have it, but haven't played it in years. The clean models aren't that bad for a practice pedal platform.
It was the sounds I got from this with a Gretsch 5120 and Holy Grail reverb that got me chasing the surf sound.

I bought one of those when they first came out. Got it from Sweetwater. Had it packed back up and ready to send back within an hour of getting it. One of the worst sounding amps I’ve ever heard. If it’s working for you, that’s good, but if I were Vox I’d be ashamed.

I’ve had good experiences with amps using a Class D power amp. It really is a clever design and can give some convincing sounds. If the modeling front end sends it a good signal, it should deliver.
