Thoughts on pink guitars? Was thinking of getting one of the new Guild Surfliner Deluxes in rose quartz metallic. I prefer light colored guitars to darker ones, and the only two other options are black and evergreen metallic. Both of those are nice, but I’m still on the fence.

I LOVE pink guitars! It screams atomic mid-century 50’s & 60’s aesthetic

To each their own, but I am personally not a fan of pink guitars.

I dig this one, but mostly because my kid was a huge Hello Kitty fan in her younger days, so I picked this up. To turn it into a dependable, playable (at a gig) guitar took a lot of work, but it's a sizzler of a guitar now!
I'm not interested in having any other pink guitars right now, but if I came across one that had the right specs, it wouldn't bother me to own it.

I had a Shell Pink MIJ Strat. I really a lot of the Japanese Fenders. The pink Strat I owned (a 50’s style reissue, with a maple neck) was a decent specimen, not a great one. After several months of ownership, I sold it. If it had been a little nicer, especially if it had had a rosewood fretboard, I probably would have kept it.

An HM Strat! I have one, but it's black.

1961 refinished in Shell Pink many years before it came to me. Had tortoise shell pickguard, but I like it a lot better with the white guard.
i found this guitar in the background of a listing for something else on Craigslist about 12 years ago… major score.

Awesome guitar! I still want one of these but they're stupid money post TheDoooo et al playing them on YouTube. I like them, but I don't £600-£1000 like them.
I don't blame you for not buying one now. I broached the subject of selling it and splitting the proceeds with her ... she was not amenable. If it wasn't "hers," I'd have sold it already and skipped down the street with the profits. New, it cost me about $269 with the matching gig bag and I put a $100 pickup and about another $100 worth of work into it - and that was back in 2006 or whenever it was they came out.
