Saw them years ago at the Halifax Jazz Fest here in Nova Scotia, Canada. Fabulous show, and the guitar player was great to talk to. We almost set up a double bill the night before, but the Jazz fest contract wouldn’t let it happen (I understood).

I saw them here in California at the Los Gatos Jewish Community Center a few years ago. Hardly anyone there and I didn't recognize any surf fans - what a waste! They were really good and I love that they use a tuba as their bass.

I like that. For years, I’ve been fascinated with the idea of using brass as a bass instrument. My dream band would include a contrabass trombone, perhaps not for every song, but at least for some songs.
