How about everyone, can someone tell me what would be the best replacement for a Fender 6G15 brown reverb unit (mid 95 or 00) my original tank has expired springs I think, and it has a slap back effect like 4 repetitions that are melting, I have changed it for this one from the link (the one that was supposed to fit in terms of dripping operation and the non-excessive duration of the re Verb I question that the change I made was not good and they were the same specifications only that the new acutronics

According to the part number - the 4ab3c1b is designed to be mounted horizontally with the open side down. On a Fender reverb tank, the pan is mounted vertically, with the connectors up, so a 4ab3c1C would be a better choice. I've not noticed a great deal of difference personally...
An alternative is the MOD tanks available in Europe, or the SurfyBear one.
If you've fitted a new pan and it doesn't sound right then something else could be the problem. Check the pan connectors are the right way round, they can be swapped over to be checked.

I thought the difference was the position of a couple of springs, and that it was a simple and reversible mod? Have I misremembered?
Regarding the orientation of the tank? I think the transducers are designed to take into account the effect of gravity on the springs so they should be orientated the right way. That's how I understand it, it anyway.
