Latest project...have about $2300 into her and will sell for $1500 firm or interesting trade. Story: Bought the 60's Showman head from a fellow who attempted to rewire w/od etc and install into a 60's blond Bandmaster cab..don't try this at home. I took the head to Kent from Backstage music Cotati...some may know him..he is an expert on BF Fenders..he has set up/rebuilt three Dual Showmans for me. It was decided that he would rebuild the head from the ground up..to a 60's Bandmaster specs..new wiring, transformers etc..all components are brand new...we're running 2 6L6's but had the space so Kent added a Rectifier tube in addition to the SS rectifier. There is a toggle switch on the back that will let you go from SS (more clean headroom) to tube (quicker breakup and sag). Cost for this rebuild was $780. The original Showman faceplate is present but I bought a new brown Bandmaster faceplate from Varitone. The tolex would be fine except it his very much darker now (nicotine?) I purchased the proper blonde tolex to recover from JD Newell...speaking of...the matching blonde cab was built by JD and is as new...it is loaded with a single JBL D-130F in perfect condition..I do not know if it was reconed. I have purchased all new holdowns, tiltback legs etc to complete the project. The amp is a tone monster for surf or flip the switch for blues/rock. If you don't mind doing a little finish work, you'll end up with a killer rig for a little $. I own 3 Dual Showmans w/cab's and while this has been a fun project I really don't need another amp. This is the first posting anywhere ..then to Craig's List.lastly to ebay but don't think it will last that long. If it does I will do the remaining cosmetic work and heft the price up. I will be taking pics tomorrow and can email to you. Thanks for reading this long post! George
