Mel, congratulations on this fine piece of exposure for the Clam Shack! I see that you are making a version of your pickup for bass guitar. Why not be a mensch and go the whole way and just make a Clam Shack bass! Although I primarily play a Precision (big surprise there huh!), I'm always looking for alternative sounds. —Patrick |

Thanks Guys! FWIW, I'm winding my first set of proper designed for bass Off Kiltertrons this weekend; I'll be putting one in a Jazz Bass which I'll have at the SG101 festival to try out. I thought about doing a P-bass first, but I came across a better deal on a J-bass. |

Mel, very sound reasoning. There is a much greater demand for guitars, both regular and baritone, in surf music, than for bass guitars. After you put the bass Off Kiltertron pickup in the J-bass, I hope you will do an audio demo so we can hear the variety of tones available. —Patrick |

Very cool, Mel. Great bio, BTW. I’ve always said that of all the Jewish Surf Music bands, MBP is the clear-cut winner.
