...but not quite in a way I thought it would. I've apparently got a good grip on GAS because I've only bought one thing (an amp) from the FS area here since I joined.

What's doing it is all the great music I find out about through SG101. Well, that and my penchant (ok it's probably more an addiction) to vinyl. I remember when LPs were $10 and CDs were $20 ... now it's reversed Smile

In the last few months, I bought more music I found out about through SG101 than probably any other avenue in my entire life. The Tentakills (just this morning!), The Space Cossacks, Surfer Joe (I even got to see him play live), Man or Astro-Man?, The Tikiyaki Orchestra, The Desolate Coast, Satan's Pilgrims, Takeshi Terauchi, Wiped Out NYC, Stein, Sys Malakian, The Beach Berserkers, Surf Aliens, The Strings Aflame, The Royal Fingers... and more thanks to great compilations from Otitis Media Records and The Continental Magazine (from Double Crown Records).

Before I joined up here, I knew about Dick Dale, The Ventures (duh) and Los Straitjackets, and had already discovered The Surfrajettes, The Del-Vipers, Humanga Danga and The Irradiates. Thanks to SG101 I've been enjoying expanding my surf horizons and taking in some great music.

I just wanted to thank you all ... and curse you all as well

SG101!

Great music! I'm sure all the bands appreciate it. We have a lot of talented members putting out stuff too.

That’s my story from 2006. Numerous guitars, amps and pedals, hundreds of records, merch and tickets. Small fortune spent, but I won’t regret a single cent)
