Permalink Friedman Little Sister

Just got a Friedman Little Sister, as I needed something similar to a JTM45. With the gain selector in the middle position, bass all the way down and treble up, it produces very nice cleans. I put my Fender 6G15 in front and it sounds great! This was through a Gibson, and will have to try with Jazzmaster later.

Has anyone tried a Twin Sister or Little Sister for Surf? If testing goes well, I might be selling off other amps. The cleans and articulation is great. It’s hand-wired, so there’s no unwanted noise.

I want to hear Caravan with a drum solo.

I've played around with a Origin 20H for surf while doing a huge long demo for a friend with anxiety, but I didn't have a decent reverb back then, so I didn't get a proper feel of it - it was just part of a 2-hour screw-around recording for my friend. I've flagged it a few times since then as something I'd like to see someone test properly. That's the closest I've come!

Nice, the Origin was on my radar for some time. Mainly because it used EL34s. Little Sister has EL84s, but sounds big. So far I’ve tested with humbuckers and Strat/Tele single coils; P90s are well articulated. It sounded great with a Jazzmaster.

For garage jamming, I think it can surf. The amp has a boost switch that’s helpful with getting better drip. Since the amp is 20 watts, there’s minimal headroom - but it also depends on what speakers you’re using. I’m going to search out a 12” that’s a little cleaner, as I mainly use the Greenback, Creamback & V30 variety. Edit: I purchased a Weber California ceramic for future testing.

I want to hear Caravan with a drum solo.

I played the LS through a closed back cab with a V30. Drips like a champ, no pedals, just the 6G15.

I want to hear Caravan with a drum solo.
