WR that reminds me. Do you use PAL in the Netherlands? I have the abilty to make a PAL version if necessary.
Yes, we're on PAL - region 2 (or 3, I forget every time - make sure to make the dvd region free)
if it's easy and your going to burn them yourself, by all means do so on custom order.
However, I have a bunch of Bruce Brown DVD's which I got through amazon, which are NTSC and I have no problem whatsoever watching them on the simple european dvd player I got as free bonus when purchasing my mobile telephone .
perhaps the colors are a bit of - I wouldn't know since I cant compare it with 'the way it should be'- but it looks pretty normal and natural to me, so the difference is minimal.
if you want, you can always send me a ntsc and pal example disc and I can compare how they look on the average european dvd player. I'll happily pay for the disc as anyone and keep whichever one works. ( this would only be necessary if making a PAL version is a lot of work, which might possibly be avoided if NTSC works fine - if it's very easy to make a PAL version on custom order, that would be easier I suppose)

I think the PAL vs. NTSC used to be a bigger problem in the VHS days. Also, I think only NTSC to PAL will have problems. PAL to NTSC shouldn't have problems due to PAL being a higher resolution than NTSC.
Ted, anything special you can do for HDTV sets? I recently bought a 52" one as a gift to myself for putting up with the medical stuff. I doubt many people have HD sets due to them have GAS. I could have bought a really nice amp for the price of the TV.

I'm doing it all myself, so I'll make the NTSC version first and if it doesn't work for you, I'll make the PAL. I think the NTSC will work if your player isn't more than 5 years old or something.

I'll check it out.

I'd also like to see it all, but maybe it would be a good idea to have 3 main chapters: a highlight one for the less patient viewers (with the best footage from both shows), then a full portland show chpater and a full Memphis show. Bonus of assorted clips from the past would be nice.
Wannes, Europe is region 2, but I think making it multi-region (region 0?) is the best bet.

I'm afraid that won't fit unless we get into double disc territory...
DDs are fine with me.

Or, as a drummer you should have said:
Ba-doom, CHA!
Getting back on topic (so I don't get accused of BTDism), I think most of your potential customers would prefer a double disc set - I mean, this is the kind of DVD that would mainly get bought by surf music fans (Hey, I wish you'd sell 50,000 copies, but let's be realistic), so it would be more appealing as complete coverage of what's available.
Thanks for asking here, and for taking on this task.

As a fan, I say both. As a realist, I say go for the better visual. The sound quality can be mastered/mixed/beefed up, but there's no substitute for authentic audience reaction.

Yup, I'd definitely purchase a DVD of that show. Any clips from the other gig?
