This years SG101 festival flyer is based on 4 of the images from that series of ads. —Jeff(bigtikidude) |

I liked the the air brushed artwork ads from the 70’s, as you’d see in Guitar Player magazine. There was some really cool, creative stuff. If you go through guitar magazines from the 80’s, there was a lot of girls in really skimpy outfits. (I’m looking at you, Kramer Guitars.) Content that definitely would not fly today. Lol But yeah, Fender did have some eye catching ads over the years. —-Cheers, Clark- -Less Paul, more Reverb- Last edited: May 14, 2023 17:42:49 |

Hi Samurai, hope you and your family are doing well. If you Google “Vintage Fender Ads”, and click on “Images”, they’ll turn up. Most of the ads focus on the Strat, Tele and P Bass, since those were the companies big sellers. Right offhand, I don’t remember seeing those ads for the Jaguars, Jazzmasters, and student models. (I’m not saying they didn’t promote those guitars, but I don’t remember seeing ads for them in the 70’s.) Aside from Guitar Player magazine, I think Fender also may have run them in “Circus” magazine as well. —-Cheers, Clark- -Less Paul, more Reverb- |
