okay, so, You all know how music has been mixed up over the years to creat new and exiting genres, like Thrash and well, hip hop(although I dont like it). Do you think mixung thrash and surf guitar would sound good? Im really geting into playing surf, and my band is horror punk/ thrash (horror thrash). Does anyone know if this has been done yet?

I don't know, but even if it has that shouldn't stop you from trying something. You think being in a plain surf band is so original? ![Wink Wink](/media/smiley/images/icon_wink.gif)
Every band is the sum of it's elements, and can differ quite a bit even within a narrow genre.

Im not sure what horror trash actually is, but is this comming close to what you mean? Oh, and the Cramps played some surfy tunes I think.

I have found that distortion needed for thrash and heavy reverb is a hard thing to blend. Yet, the idea is very sound... a good listen is Pipeline by Anthrax.
I can send it via e-mail to anyone who wants to hear it.

Damn, Alex, you beat me to it. I've been working on my surf version of "Master of Puppets" for this year's SG101 comp.
Surf and thrash are a great combination.

Someone just told me about this hardcore/thrash band called Ghoul that taps into surf sometimes. They have an instrumental tune.

The mofos were pritty good actully. Im was thinking like, having a surf guitar and a distorted guitar seperate. lol, Im trying Slayers Angel of Death with only Reverb. Id like a copy of Pipeline from anthrax, maybe that will inspire me a little more

Ive arranged 'murders in the rue morgue' by Maiden and also wrote 'Surf Metal Sandwhich' that consists of metal bookends and a trad surf middle.
I really need to get some recording equipment up and going before the deadline. Im gonna put a few songs out there this year for sure.
