Permalink Have I posted this? AquaSonics at Texas Toast Days

New Topic

I don't know if I've posted this - its a video of my band The AquaSonics at my guitar building shop, Texas Toast Guitars. We used to do a yearly guitar show/get together. This was the first year in our new shop. This was also the last time our drummer Kevin was in Denver, before moving to Nashville, to play with bigger and better bands.

Have I ever mentioned how nerve racking playing live on a Youtube video is? I think I have. It's way worse than just a live show. (that's my excuse)

This was a few years ago. I'm really fat in this clip, and my bald sp0t is just starting to really show. I might be thinner today.

So, anyway, here's "Scratch" as performed by Eddie and The Showman. Written by Nokie Edwards. Yeah, that guy.

This was a song that was a goal for me to play live - so cool, and just fast enough and out of the usual first wave surf song type. Have I played it better? I'll say yes. Were those performances recorded? Maybe not. Maybe one.

Enjoy the clams.

That does look kinda crazy, not like a regular show. Sounded good and live, I love "mic in a room" sounds. But hey - is that a brown Pro down there, recovered in blonde?

Hey Chris, what is the status of the Aquasonics? Have you gotten a new drummer since Kevin left? If the Aquasonics are not active are you playing with anyone else? Thanks!

It's a '63 Bandmaster in a 1x15 cabinet I built with a Weber 15"

We did not get a new drummer. Kevin came back during Covid for a while, and we did a live thing much like this. I'm currently in a project that is entirely different. We may do more AquaSonics stuff in the future if the stars align.
