B is a .020 and the G is .026!

I’ve been on every side of string gauge issues, from surplus suspension bridge cables to string sets so light what you just leave the top string off :), and at the end of all that, I have very little solid data beyond two simple facts: plain strings sound brighter than wound strings and, plain strings intonate sharper. That’s it; a lifetime of tireless research, and I’ve learned what was obvious on day one. Smile

If I was strictly playing rhythm, I might go for a wound G, but for lead work, IMO a plain G is the way to go!
