My blem Surfydrip arrived, and today I was able to pair it up with a vintage Fender reverb unit. Looks great. Does the pedal have a battery for the light?

Yes, the ring around the button lights up when the SD is "engaged." It has to be plugged in and have a battery with charge inside. Here's mine ... lit up! -- |

Yes, Miles, but how does it sound? What does it do? Well, I’m embarrassed to say, I don’t know yet. Upon powering up the old Fender, there emitted a ferocious sound, which 10,000 bumblebees interpreted as a mating call and gathered at my window. It needs to see the dr. I’ll dig out the RI tank tonight. |

Who's Miles? Normally with these tube reverb units, you plug in the Fender footswitch and it gives you ON [click] OFF. The SD Switch gives you ON [click] ON-X, where X=some reduced level of reverb. Full clockwise on the pot gives you 100% of your ON setting; spin the knob counterclockwise to get some reduced amount of reverb. At full counterclock it gives you OFF. I like to set it at about a 40% reduction and use that to bring leads a little more out front in the mix, then switch back to full reverb for rhythm. —-- Last edited: Feb 24, 2023 10:07:01 |
