Permalink "Now! That's What I Call Surf Music" VOL2 - 90's pop hits played surf style

New Topic
Goto Page: 1 2 Next

Greetings fellow surf nerds, after a hard year's work we're pleased to announce the follow up to our first volume of 90's pop hits surfed up with tons of reverb and twangy guitar, the way we all love to hear it.

You can hear full versions of all the songs on Bandcamp and if you missed Volume 1, be sure to check that out too.

I promise you you'll be surprised at how we turned these classic songs into surf instros, some came out even better than the originals Big Grin

Now on Spotify Wink

Here's the tracklist:

I should mention we made a limited run of hand silk-screened CD's, the green parts actually glow in the dark. So get them while they last, we only made 50 and we're giving a bunch to our friends...

Thanks guys! I know most people here are like "the 90's? I already stopped listening to top 40 music by then, I don't know these songs". And I'm right with you, but you'll find our versions stand on their own for the most part. There's a reason why these songs were hits, good melodies and hooks, and we've just used them as a base to build some cool songs. Please take a listen, you may find yourself humming along. Check out Vol 1 while you're there.

I think it's better to not know the songs. Then the vocals are not going in my head while the song's playing.

Anyway, nice work!!

If I'd stop buying old guitars to fix, I might actually learn to play.
Bringing instruments back to life since 2013.

These are exactly the hits of my student years, so thank you so much for these great covers) I am also busy now with some 80-90 disco/new wave/synth pop covers and find it a lot of fun to do.

We're embarking on Volume 3, the last of the series. So I thought I'd bump this thread in case anyone missed it. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6tiWbUoN54H7es7fWZIZfx

With the 70's you are right in my wheelhouse. I think you'll find more than enough hit material with which to work.
