Thanks! It was more like bringing attention to us, cause the world seems to become tired of our problems, but they don’t disappear as well as the russian terrorist state lives on and kills on.
But surely we appreciate donations, our reserves are out. Our fight lasts from 2014.

I dont think the world will forget Ukraine.
This was awesome. Ill watch this again on Sunday. Thanks for the link.

Hi to all. May I've a different opinion? I hope the admins don't ban it. Thanks for this concert no matter how difficult it is to organize. Undoubtedly, Amphibian Man is a cool dude, I love his first albums (in this concert he chose bad tracks), Cobra Twist is also good dudes, as a very cool classical sound. Thanks for the links, I'll listen to them now. But I don't agree with other groups. I don't see the connection with classic surf here, as it should be. Most of it is aggressive surf rock, more punk or hard surf. It has little in common with our favorite classic Californian Sound. Then, if you have the charitable goals of the concert, why constantly remind you of Russia's aggression? Why are we constantly reminded of this? As a neutral listener, I see this very often in your posts. This is starting to stress me out. Most come here to listen or talk about surf music, and not to read another political appeal No .

Thank you for watching and sharing your opinion! I believe that surf music has many faces and I like it, I really enjoy that there are bands like Daikaju or Man or Astroman? and not only “california sound” bands. Concerning your complain - there are just a couple of topics with Ukraine in heading where I may mention what is happening now in my country. I think you may just happily ignore these two topics. Yes, this was a charity show, but Charity for the victims of russian aggression, I guess this connection is pretty clear. Show was two times interrupted because russians are destroying our infrastructure and millions of people now have no light and heating in cold winter. Sorry that now you are stressed because of this. Just ignore Ukraine headed topics, In other ones I speak only of music and guitars as you may see.

It should not be that hard to understand why Ukrainians, including the Ukrainian surf scene, are not neutral listeners in this.

Similau1963, while I generally sympathize with your opinion of aggressive surf music, I found myself wondering what music would I relate to if I were in the midst of an armed conflict? Watching the bands yesterday I felt a sense of amazement and admiration for these musicians, to put on a festival in such conditions. Such is the power of music.

Given Vitaly's situation, I think he's shown a great amount of restraint. Ultimately, Brian is the boss and will decide what crosses the line, but I don't have a problem with what I've seen so far.

I agree, 3 out of 5 bands are on a heavier side of the surf, expanding it to rock, metal, prog, punk and whatever. But Ukraine isn’t California) I guess current situation also influenced us. My band was the only one absent on this fest. We were somehow between classic and modern in sound but also tended to fast and aggressive side. I think in Brazil they also play mostly heavy and aggressive surf, maybe Ukraine is a European surf Brazil?)

Some musicians were not present cause they are fighting for Ukraine. Some of them are no longer with us. But we go on and do what we can.

I believe you're the only person on SG101 (since the invasion of Ukraine) that is "stressed out" reading about the life-changing events that has occured to one of our own members and his family.

Perhaps your stress level would be eased by not reading too much into his posts...or better yet, scroll by and go onto something else.

Something devoid of real-world issues not related to our SG101 family (that's contributed more than two posts, like you).

We try to be supportive within the surf community but similau1963's comments are about as tone deaf as you can be. Complains about the music, complains about the cause. Given the circumstances I call that reprehensible.

Was in the studio all weekend with my band, will be checking this out tonight!! Super excited about it, amazing to see such an event take place in the midst of a war, but it speaks greatly to the spirit of the Ukrainian people and their willpower in the face of naked, unwarranted aggression.
