Introducing the newest weapon in the Wiped Out arsenal! Fender Traditional Jaguar in custom color Lake Placid Blue w/ matching headstock and a dark rosewood board!

This MIJ Jaguar features all USA electronics including V-Mod pickups, Switchcraft jack and switched and full size CTS 1-meg pots and a real bone nut. It has a "Deep C" neck profile and a 9.5 inch radius. It's got immaculate fretwork. No sharp fret edges, beautifully crowned and polished. Set up and intonation was spot on out of the box!

Congrats & enjoy! She's a beauty!! Cool

Thanks man, digging this one!

Congrats! Nice color. I am curious how would you describe V mod pickups? I always see the name but have only heard regular single coils.

Hey did you play a strat before? Is this possibly your first jag? I played a Strat for 25 years and within two seconds of trying a Jaguar, I knew I was never going back.

Love that color - have a Strat in LPB and it's just beautiful. IMO yours is prettier because of the matching headstock!!

Hey man, thanks! I honestly, in the application of Surf, I really like these pickups. I don't think they are wildly different vintage single coils when used in the context of clean surf guitar, they are still just single coil pickups. From what I understand, they're wound hotter and have more mid-range. They measure at around 9K in the Bridge and 8K in the Neck. Compared to the vintage ones which I think are around 6.8k each. For clean, I'm not hearing a whole insane amount of difference, if anything that extra bite gives it more drip. I think you'd hear a bigger difference with fuzz and heavy distortion, in which the v-mods would likely outperfom vintage pickups as far as a full and fat sound.

I know the v-mod JM pickups get shit on by some people for basically being just slightly overwound strat pickups...but these things are a little closer to what a real Jag pick up is IMHO!

Oh and my main guitar for surf before this was an AV65 Jag! I do have an AV56 Strat as well though! They compete for playing time, but Jags just always win out for me.

Matched headstocks are Just Better.

I think it depends on the color for me! I love matching headstocks for Lake Placid Blue, Ocean Turquoise Metallic, Charcoal Frost Metallic...but then for Candy Apple Red and Sherwood Green, I weirdly prefer non-matching

I have been eying the placid blue MIJ Jag for a while.
Still considering.

Looks great!
Curious what is labeled as deep C.
Can you please provide depths at 1st and 12th?

Thanks Jeff

Oh no you didn't, wipedoutnyc! That thing is absolutely gorgeous!! Seriously, she's a beauty. Fretboard looks like rosewood as well. Congrats!!

Sure they do. You just have to switch brands to Kustom.....

ed

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Well, it would free you from my continually recommending matching amps to you. OR WOULD IT!?

I'm living vicariously through you, no-one does matching amps for the Sparkle Squad. ;)

Tqi I have an amp guitar match in the works..you're gonna love it!
I have a surf green Fender Jag and a Squire White Jag.
So take a guess where this custom amp is going?
Stay tuned! Got a week in the shop to complete.
