Lords of Atlantis are proud to present our third track, "Leading Edge" - dedicated to the legendary '60s band the Astronauts whose influence on the modern surf music scene continues to be massive. They developed a highly distinctive and original sound that has been often copied but never equaled, recording some of most classic and beloved surf instrumentals (and vocals) ever. Unfortunately, about a month ago, only two days apart, the world lost their lead guitarist Rich Fifield and drummer Jim Gallagher. In light of that we wanted to show our respect and appreciation for this amazing band.
Lords of Atlantis are Jeremy DeHart (The Manakooras, the A-Men, Aqualads. The Blair Pongracic Band) on rhythm guitar (or two, in the case of this track!) and bass , Dane Carter (The Madeira, the Troubadours, The Blair Pongracic Band) on drums, and Ivan Pongracic (The Madeira, The Space Cossacks, the Blair Pongracic Band) on lead guitar.
The track written by Ivan, recorded by Jeremy and Dane. and mixed by Jeremy. The video edited by Jeremy - a truly multi-talented individual!
We hope you enjoy both the song and the video!! We are Lords of Atlantis!
Oh, and happy new year!

Really excellent, but that’s hardly surprising given who’s involved.

When a member of the Crossfires (who evolved into the Turtles), of "Fiberglass Jungle" and "Out of Control" fame, refers to Lords of Atlantis as "the Lords of Surf as well," that's a very good way to start the week!

Nice tribute but there is only one Ivan Pongracic sound. Unmistakable and never duplicated!

Awesome man! That sounded really nice. Is that a Pau Ferro fretboard?

Thanks! It's supposed to be a rosewood fretboard, it's a 2012 American Standard Strat, but it's extremely light in color, and it does look like Pau Ferro. That was I think just before there were all the rosewood import restrictions and I do actually wonder if Fender was sometimes using Pau Ferro even when it was supposed to be rosewood (I'm not really good at telling them apart). I wouldn't be surprised if it it turned out this was Pau Ferro! But it feels really nice and sounds great, so it's not a big deal either way.
