Permalink Bandcamp 16 bit wav or MP3 download??

New Topic

All,
Merry Christmas. What does everyone put on their Bandcamp site? 16/24 bit wave or 16 bit mp3?
What do you prefer to download?

We have been putting wav files, but it occurred to me (duh) that maybe a smaller file may be easier.

I prefer a choice of formats, but given the choice, I choose WAV or FLAC files over MP3's.

Bob

Same as Bob, more choice is better.

I typically grab a high quality lossless(ish) format where available. Good or bad, that’s often ALAC, ‘cause I’ve been locked into Apple stuff forever. I’ve not gone way overboard to uncompressed though. My listening platforms aren’t that primo.

When I’m concerned about file size, say putting it on my phone, or an old school Shuffle for when running/biking, it is easy enough to down convert those tracks. Capt. Obvious in 3… 2… 1… you can’t really go the other direction. So yeah, give me a top(ish) tier lossy(ish) quality and I’ll sort portability if or as needed.

Upload the highest quality that you have. Bandcamp automatically converts to a variety of formats.

I buy lots from Bandcamp and I always want FLAC

All I wish I knew what they were talking about

Always upload at the highest rate possible. Bandcamp will take care of the lower res formats (as previously mentioned). Good luck with the release.

Okay, thanks for the input. We'll leave the Bandcamp at wav files, 16/24 bit for now.
Merry Christmas all!
